Saudi unemployment rate stands at 11%

Riyadh – Mubasher: The unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia hit 11.5% KSA Minister of Labor, according to Labor Minister Mufrej Al-Haqbani, who added that the number of employees in the private sector jumped to 1.7 million by the end of 2015 from 700,000 in 2011. 

The ministerial statement which came in KSA’s Shura Council session, showed that the number of Saudi women in the private sector shot up from 50,000 to 477,000 at the end of Q3-15.

The Hafiz program generated jobs for 438,563 citizens, of which 60% are women.

For expatriates, the minister stated that their numbers reached 9 million.
