Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s general operating revenue index for wholesale and retail trade statistics recorded an increase of 7.30% during the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, compared to Q1-25.
On a quarterly basis, the index also rose by 0.50% when compared to Q4-25, according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) data.
The operating revenue index for retail trade, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles, climbed by 9.50%. Meanwhile, the wholesale trade, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles, grew by 5.50%.
Operating revenue for the sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 5.40% in Q1-26.
Statistics also showed an 11.40% surge in the compensation index for employees in the wholesale and retail trade sector, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles, and an 8.20% increase in compensation for employees in the sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
The compensation for employees in the wholesale trade sector, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles, also rose by 8.10% compared to the same quarter of 2025.
