Saudi wholesale price index edges up 0.1% in March – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s wholesale price index inched up 0.1% year-on-year in March, according to data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

The kingdom’s wholesale price index registered 117.2 basis points last month from 117.1 basis points in the same month a year earlier.

The rise in the wholesale inflation rate was ascribed to a 2% increase in prices of metal products, machinery, and equipment section, the state-run statistics agency revealed.

On the other hand, the prices of agriculture and fishery products fell by 1.1%, while other goods including petroleum products and chemical materials declined about 1%.

On a monthly basis, the kingdom’s wholesale price index increased by 0.9% in March.
