Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, ranked first among airlines worldwide for on-time performance in May 2026, recording a 92.30% on-time departure rate and a 90.12% on-time arrival rate during the month, as per the latest report from Cirium.
The airline operated 13,669 flights during the month across a network of more than 100 destinations spanning four continents. This milestone came during one of Saudia’s busiest operational periods, which included the arrival phase of the 2026 Hajj season and the Eid Al-Adha holiday travel rush.
Saudia attributed the performance to integrated operational planning, advanced digital systems, and AI-enabled solutions that enhanced efficiency, operational readiness, and decision-making across its network.
On-time performance is a key indicator of service quality and customer experience, with Saudia attributing its strong regional and global rankings in recent years to a company-wide focus on punctuality.
Meanwhile, Saudia plans the delivery of 12 new aircraft throughout 2026 in line with its fleet expansion strategy to boost operational efficiency and enhance global connectivity.
