Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has unveiled building a precast house in Riyadh within 48 hours by a domestic developer by using modular concrete.
The project is part of the GCC nation’s efforts to enhance the private sector, in addition to increasing the use of modern construction technologies, Construction Week Online reported on Wednesday.
The construction works of the villa began on Sunday, 23 December, and the entire building was finished in just two days.
This step is expected to raise homeownership and boost innovation in the oil-rich kingdom.
On a related note, Saudi officials further indicated that they aim to accelerate construction processes and boost localisation, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
As part of the Saudi Vision 2030, intended to diversify the kingdom’s economy and invest more heavily in infrastructure, stepping up innovation in the construction sector is a key factor to increase homeownership to 60% during 2020 and 70% by 2030.
