Cairo- Mubasher: Sawari Ventures announced that it has raised $4.5 million Series A investment round for the e-learning platform, Al Mentor, in collaboration with Egypt Ventures, Endure Capital, and investor Mohamed El Amin.
The total funding raised by the company is valued at $8 million until the present time, according to a recent press release.
Launched in 2016, almentor.net is an online platform aims at filling the gap of unavailable online Arabic personal development content. The platform offers rich and unique online solutions for Arabic speakers in various areas, including humanities, technology, entrepreneurship, and business management.
On this occasion, Partner at Sawari Ventures Wael Amin said, ‘’Filling this gap in the area of knowledge development and laying the foundation for a rich online learning ecosystem is crucial to the development of the next generation of empowered leaders.’’
In addition, the online platform will use the funding to ‘’accelerate course development and expand the roster of mentors who are recruited through a vigorous selection criterion, with a 10% acceptance rate in order to maintain the highest quality offered in the market,’’ according to the press release.
Meanwhile, Al Mentor’s CEO and co-founder Ihab Fikry remarked, ‘’Already we have more than 10,000 videos online and we hope to use this investment to further avail our audience to even more enriching learning experiences, in the process helping young people enhance their personal development and confidence, while increasing their knowledge base.’’
