Dubai – Mubasher: Schneider Electric is looking to expand its activities in the GCC region on the back of the countries’ increasing shift to digitisation to improve their energy operations.
The French conglomerate plans to build new, ‘smart’ cities and companies in a bid to “embrace the possibilities” of digitisation, global chairman Jean-Pascal Tricoire told Arabian Business.
Tricoire noted that his company is working with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) regarding digitising its operations.
“ADNOC has the will to go beyond where it’s been before and to be on the best level of efficiency to compete on a global scale,” Tricoire added.
He expected Schneider’s business in the region to grow as Gulf countries seek to slash spending greatly.
However, energy digitisation has the potential to hit $1.6 trillion in value by 2025.
