Services, investment sectors drag BHB down

Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse’s (BHB) benchmark index levelled down 0.02% or 0.28 points to close at 1,209.75 points on Wednesday.

Bahrain Islamic index retreated by 0.29% to reach 815.8 points.

Turnover amounted to nearly BHD 196,500 after 1.169 million shares were exchanged through 23 transactions.

Market cap stood at BHD 7.169 billion ($18.878 billion).

The worst sectoral decline was services as it declined 0.16% after Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex fell 1.67%.

The investment sector lost 0.13% as GFH stock plunged by 3.12%, while Al Baraka Bank rose by 0.88%.

Meanwhile, the banks sector inched up 0.07% as NBB gained 0.73%.

Ithmaar Bank recorded the highest turnover of $93,700, a trading value generated from four deals on 624,700 shares. The stock remained unchanged at $0.150.
