UAE – Mubasher: The number of travellers through the Sharjah International Airport increased by 13% year-on-year in April, statistics issued by the airport showed.
The airport has seen around 4.35 million travellers in April, compared to 3.84 million people in the same month last year, statistics added.
In terms of cargo, the airport handled 50,321 tonnes of freights since the beginning of the year until April, growing 14.1% from 44,069 tonnes in the same four-month period of 2018.
The Sharjah International Airport has been successful during the first four months of 2019 in strengthening its existing partnerships and collaborating with new firms operating in the freight field.
This has been positively reflected in the 27.3% growth the airport achieved in terms of the volume of the sea and air freight during the four-month period of the year.
