Dubai – Mubasher: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) on Tuesday announced the launch of the first phase of eco-friendly bus stops in the emirate.
The first stage of the project entails 28 stations at investments reaching AED 16 million ($4.36 million), the SRTA said.
SRTA director Abdulaziz Al Jarwan attended the launch event along with other Sharjah and SRTA officials.
Commenting on the launch, Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, chairman of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council (SUPC), said that the SUPC was coordinating with SRTA on this vital project, which upon completion will include 172 stops using clean energy.
