Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada to welcome flights after Russia’s election

Cairo – Mubasher: Russian flights to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada are likely to be resumed after the Russian presidential election which will take place in March, Atef Aglan, a member of Egypt's committee on Russian tourism resumption, said in an interview on DMC channel.

Egypt is expected to generate between $4 billion and $5 billion in tourism revenues once Russian tourists return to the Arab world's most populous country, Aglan added.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich announced that an aviation security agreement between Russia and the North African nation has been prepared, which is projected to be inked before flights resume between both countries, according to TASS Russian News Agency.

On 4 January 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to resume flights between Moscow and Cairo.
