Sharm El-Sheikh has potential to regain its glory with right marketing – GlobalData

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian tourism sector is set to flourish once again with the removal of the UK flight ban to Sharm El-Sheikh that lasted for four years, the leading data and analytics company GlobalData said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Just hours after the ban was lifted, companies were jumping at the chance to resume operations. TUI has already begun selling holidays for 2020 and easyJet will launch flights to Egypt for the first time,” Laura Beaton, travel and tourism analyst at GlobalData noted.

Moreover, Olympic Hotels will provide hotel reservations instead of bankrupt Thomas Cook, Beaton added.

Nevertheless, right marketing is necessary to help Sharm El-Sheikh regain its glory.

The Egyptian seaside town located on the coastal strip along the Red Sea has long been an attractive destination for UK vacationers who “have been circumventing the ban by flying indirectly or traveling across land from other parts of Egypt,” Beaton noted.

According to Scubatravel.co.uk, Thistlegorm in the Egyptian Red Sea has been ranked the fourth most popular destination for divers around the world, while the Shark and Yolanda Reef comes in the fifth spot.

Diving companies are also offering attractive deals to travellers such as diving company Regaldive which offers two free days if a dive package is reserved before 22 November.
