Sipchem suspends 2 units for periodic maintenance

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) suspended the Carbon Monoxide unit of International Gases Company (IGC) and the Acetic Acid unit of International Acetate Company (IAC) for scheduled periodic maintenance.

The maintenance of the two units is expected to increase both the efficiency and reliability of each of the production units, according to a bourse filing on Tuesday.

The company noted that it will start the maintenance on 23 May for five weeks.

The financial impact will be announced once the activity is completed and will also be reflected in the results of the second quarter of 2017.

Sipchem has taken all necessary precautions to ensure that commitments to customers are met without interruption during this period, the statement said.

Sipchem owns 72% of IGC's capital and 87% of IAC's capital.
