Sipchem unit signs SAR 542m contract with Korean company

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi International Petrochemical (Sipchem) said its subsidiary - International Methanol Company has signed SAR 542,602 million EPC contract with Korean based – eTec.

The Korean company will carry out the engineering, procurement, and construction for IMC Efficiency Enhancement Project.

The project will be on the methanol facility in Sipchem and the main objective for this project is to fulfill the new requirement for the SEEC (Saudi Energy Efficiency Center) mainly the energy intensity target specified by the authority, which will contribute to increase operation efficiency of methanol plant.

Sipchem noted that the process improvements will not affect the performance of the existing methanol plant.

The project is scheduled to start on 8 December 2016 and be delivered by the fourth quarter of 2018.
