Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a directive to raise the monthly bonuses for house officers by 450% to EGP 2,200 from EGP 400.
The decision covers 12,000 junior doctors who graduated in December 2019, according to a cabinet statement on Thursday.
The cost of the bonus raise amounts to EGP 320 million, the finance minister Mohamed Maait said, noting that a total amount of EGP 100 million has been provided immediately to university hospitals to cover the raise.
In addition, a total of EGP 1.5 billion has been allocated to cover the raises for promoted civil servants in fiscal year 2020/2021, he pointed out.
