Six sectors drag down QSE early Monday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading session in the red, pressured by the fall of six sectors.

By 10:10 am Qatar time, the general index declined 0.18% to 10,634.93 points, losing 19.55 points.

Turnover amounted to QAR 30.59 million after 1.36 million shares traded through 1,150 transactions.

The goods and services sector topped decliners with 0.78% as Salam International Investment (SIIS) went down 5.53%, while the banking sector levelled down 0.4% after Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding (DBIS) and the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) fell 7.04% and 0.26%, respectively.

On the other hand, the industrial sector was the bourse’s only gainer adding 0.19% as Industries Qatar and Qatar Electricity and Water rose 0.57% and 0.14%, respectively.

Industries Qatar’s stock led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 9.17 million, while QAMCO’s stock, which plunged 1.70%, spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 415,720 shares.
