UAE – Mubasher: Smart Dubai has rolled out “Smart Supplier” application to provide the suppliers registered in the Government Resources Planning Systems (GRPS) access to data, contracts, bids, and financial transactions from over 50 governmental bodies in Dubai through a mobile application.
Through the new development, suppliers can conclude various transactions through their smartphones anytime, anywhere, including viewing tenders’ documents, creating invoices, in addition to presentation and proposals’ submission and instalment payments, among other services, according to a press release on Sunday.
Users can know about the newly-available tenders without a need for a username or a password, however, a login will be mandatory for further steps.
The new edge is in line with the ‘Dubai Paperless Strategy’, which aims to build a future without paper by 2021. It further aspires to make Dubai the happiest and the smartest city on earth.
Commenting on this news, CEO of the Dubai Smart Government, Wesam Lootah, said: “Smart Dubai is committed to aggregating government procurement services in Dubai by developing a single automated platform that fosters collaboration and eases interaction between government entities and their partners – individuals, companies, or suppliers – in an effort to achieve our ultimate objective of making Dubai the happiest and smartest city in the world.”
Additionally, the application enables customers to pay tender fees if found and submit invoices to government entities easily, saving nearly 40% of the normal time needed for such transaction.
Furthermore, suppliers can apply for notifications of delivery for products and services and can digitally sign on the documents related to such products and services. Government entities can enlist more suppliers for their available services, which will increase competition and catalyse the provision of better services.
