Mubasher: Sohar Port and Freezone signed a land lease agreement with Chinese Jiangsu Changbao Steel Tube, according to a recent statement on Wednesday.
To be located in Sohar Freezone, the new manufacturing facility will involve an initial investment of approximately $20 million and will specialise in the production of steel piping and related products for oil and gas industries in Oman and the region.
The manufacturing unit’ annual capacity is estimated at 50,000 tonnes of steel pipes and tubular products, with part of the output planned to be exported to the GCC and other markets.
