Southern Iraq’s exports hit 3.1 mmbd, production falls

Cairo – Decypha: Crude exports from southern Iraq for the month of Iraq have reached an average level of 3.163 million barrels per day (mmbd), two sources told Reuters.

Production from the north as well has been brought down by 40,000 bpd in comparison to February’s figures.

Iraq has been under pressure to reduce production as part of a global pact to limit supply. For which it has responded by a reduction of 210,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The country's biggest oilfield, Rumaila, has decreased its production by around 70,000 bpd to average at a production level of 1.380 mmbd, the reason of which is believed to be due to maintenance activities, reported Egypt Oil & Gas.

Only a minority of Iraqi crude exports are from the north, which are shipped through Ceyhan in Turkey.
