Riyadh – Mubasher: Acciona has presented four bids to establish large sewage treatment and water desalination plants in Saudi Arabia during the next period, managing director for the Middle East Region and chief of the GCC Jesús Sancho said.
The stations will be built in the Saudi cities of Shuqaiq, Rabigh, and Dammam, and Jeddah Airport, Sancho told Construction Week.
He expected further plants to be established in Yanbu, Taif, and Ras Al Khair region in the future.
Acciona’s official further noted that the stations will be carried out under a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.
Sancho indicated that his company is currently working on seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant which is located in Al Khobar with a capacity of 210,000 cubic metres.
After completing the plant in Al Khobar, it will be one of the largest stations across the Kingdom.
