Speculators, low liquidity control UAE markets – Analysts

By: Mahmoud Gamal

Dubai-Mubasher: Speculators are still directing the UAE stock markets which suffer lack of catalysts and negative performance, analysts told Mubasher.

The indices movement in the UAE markets is still mixed, with trades under rapid speculations which relied on the positive news of a possible merger between the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and First Gulf Bank (FGB), said capital market analyst Bassel Abu-Teima.

The worries over portfolio and funds’ investments reflect negatively on liquidity which appears to be low, in line with the key global events this week, the analyst added.

The UAE markets are still attractive to capital investments, despite the fluctuations seen in global markets over the past few weeks, said technical analyst Amir Al-Mansouri.
