Speculators control UAE markets amid low liquidity – Analysts

By: Mahmoud Gamal

Dubai-Mubasher: The low liquidity in the UAE stock exchanges has given speculators the chance to have control over the markets, amid volatility in oil prices and global bourses, analysts told Mubasher.

Investors do not have to rush as long as both trading value and volume are at low levels, said capital market analyst Mohamed Al-Shimiry.

Foreign investors and some of the local portfolio investments intend to exit their shares before Eid Al-Fitr holiday, despite the slight increase seen in Monday’s session, said technical analyst Wael Mohaysein.

Meanwhile, some of the rebounds witnessed in the past period did not mean an exit from the downward trend of the UAE markets, said capital market analyst Waleed Khattab.

He noted that this trend may continue until companies start announcing their Q2 financials.
