Sri Lankan firm to manage 2 logistics facilities in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Dubai-based Trustworthy.ae Group announced the beginning of establishing its first inland container depot and a third-party logistics facility in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), one of the largest industrial zones in the Middle East and a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Ports.

Hayleys Advantis Limited (Advantis), the transportation and logistics arm of Sri Lanka-based Hayleys PLC, will manage and operate both facilities, Arabian Business reported on Monday.

Advantis has a 20-year experience in ICD and 3PL management, in addition to operating multiple facilities across the South Asian region.

The ceremony was attended by Mohamed Juma Al Shamsi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, and Samir Chaturvedi, the CEO of KIZAD, among others.

“Today's groundbreaking ceremony marks an important milestone on our project. Trustworthy.ae Group's investment in building the ICD and 3PL facility in KIZAD demonstrates our continued commitment to the UAE,” Abdul Lathif, the managing director of Trustworthy.ae Group, commented.

Located near to the Khalifa Port, Trustworthy.ae Group's facilities will focus on serving the expected rise of container volumes to 8.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) from existing 1.5 million TEUs per annum over the coming five years.

“We are pleased to celebrate the ground-breaking of Trustworthy.ae Group’s first Inland Container Depot and third-party logistics facility – two major developments that will support the trade of goods to and from Abu Dhabi across a wide spectrum of industries,” Chaturvedi said.
