Startup VisitnGo eyes 160m travellers in ME via new platform

Cairo – Mubasher: New online booking services provider Visit and Go (VisitnGo) kicked off its operations in Egypt in April, marking the first Arabic marketplace for things-to-do worldwide.

The newly-founded company unveiled plans to link between 20,000 travel agencies and millions of travellers from all across the globe.

It said that the purpose of the startup was to facilitate the trip-planning and booking processes for up to 190 million users in the Middle East, according to a statement.

We have received initial funding bids from several foreign investment funds.

“Travel-goers annually waste hundreds of hours due to a delay in planning the trips or ill-planning, while travel firms lose hundreds of millions in revenues and profits owing to their inability to reach tourists,” Visit and Go’s co-founder and CEO Nabil El Shafeay said.

The platform aims to spread the culture of travelling and fun and enrich travel and tourism-related online Arabic content, the CEO added.

“The social impact of our platform is that we provide an easy tool for travel agencies and activity centres which are small and medium business to spread their work worldwide, those centres could be a small diving centre,” he noted.

International tourist arrivals grew by around 7% to 1,322 billion in 2017. While global online tourism services have been growing significantly, they are expected to reach a value of $694 billion by the end of 20108 and $817.5 billion by 2020, according to recent official data.

“At Visit and Go, we believe that the availability of a platform for defining the tours is an enormous investment opportunity for the companies, particularly small- and medium-sized ones, to market their services online,” the platform’s CEO pointed out.

The platform provides hundreds of tours and activities all around the world, offering competitive prices and instant booking confirmation, Visit and Go concluded.
