UAE– Mubasher: Strata Manufacturing (STRATA), a fully-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, has extended its partnership with the Italy-based aerospace company Leonardo, through a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and manufacture aircraft components for major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) programmes.
The MoU, which is an extension of the giants’ ten-year collaboration, aims to meet the needs of major global airplane manufactures, Emirates News Agency (WAM) recently reported.
Under the deal, the two entities will expand their presence in the global aero-structures sector, utilising their combined engineering expertise and mutual production capabilities.
Moreover, Leonardo will simultaneously provide technical support services and elevate information exchange with Strata in the advanced technology field, being one of the top ten global firms specialising in aerospace, defence, and security.
CEO of Strata, Ismail Ali Abdulla, commented: “Strata’s main goal is to ensure that the company delivers high-quality components to the world, reflecting the value of the ‘Made with Pride in UAE’ brand."
Meanwhile, Leonardo’s Aerostructures dvision managing director, Giancarlo Schisano, said: “Our engineering capabilities and advanced technology processes will be a key success factor to capture new business opportunities in a win-win cooperation scheme."
It is worth noting that Strata collaborates with other leading aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus, Boeing, and Pilatus Aircraft.
