Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Suez Canal raised $3.183 billion during the period extended from January to 6 August, said Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish.
The revenues thus are higher 4% year-over-year due to the New Suez Canal’s inauguration in August 2015, the Chairman added.
Earlier, the authority expected a 16.3% rise its revenues during the fiscal year 2016/17.
In January 2016, the Chairman reported that FY15 revenues fell 5.3% year-on-year to $5.175 from $5.465 billion.
