Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s general budget revenue from Suez Canal surged 42% year-on-year to EGP 54.7 billion during the first nine months of the fiscal year 2018/2019.
Taxes on the Suez Canal increased to EGP 29.2 billion from July to April, against EGP 22.3 billion a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
Egypt’s total tax revenue increased to EGP 550.27 billion in the first 10 months of the fiscal year 2018/2019, from EGP 470.51 billion a year earlier.
During the ten-month period ended 30 April, tax revenue accounted for 80% of Egypt’s total revenue.
