Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s public budget revenue from the Suez Canal declined by 7% year-on-year during the first six months of the fiscal year 2019/2020.
Suez Canal's contribution to the public budget went down to EGP 33.4 billion from July to December 2019, compared to EGP 36 billion in the year-ago period, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Taxes on the Suez Canal increased to EGP 16.15 billion in the July-December period, against EGP 17.4 billion a year earlier
It is worth noting that Egypt’s revenues from the Suez Canal grew by 1.3%, or $731 million, to reach $5.8 billion in 2019.
