Cairo – Mubasher: The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has estimated the losses incurred due to the six-day blockage caused by the grounded giant vessel at $12 million to $15 million a day, the authority’s Chairman, Osama Rabie, announced.
The compensations for vessels that faced delays will be estimated later after the end of investigations which will determine who is responsible for the accident, Rabie added in a press conference.
At 6:00 p.m. Cairo time on Monday, the Suez Canal was reopened to marine traffic in both directions.
Yesterday, the authority succeeded in refloating the Ever Given vessel that blocked the waterway for six days after responding to pull-and-push manoeuvres.
