Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Canal has generated $27.5 billion in revenue over the last five years, an increase of $4.7 billion in the corresponding period, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Monday, citing the President of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabea, as saying.
The new canal has helped reduce the waiting time for transiting ships and boost the number of vessels passing through Suez Canal with the daily number of vessels increasing to 81 on 19 August from 42, with expectations to increase to an average 95 by 2023, Rabea added.
