Cairo - Mubasher: The Suez Canal Authority has recorded an all-time high level of revenues during fiscal year 2017/2018.
The new canal and flexible marketing policies contributed to the rising income, according to an official statement.
Revenues grew by 13% year-on-year, around $600 million, to a total $5.6 billion in FY17/18, the statement revealed.
The chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Mohab Mamish, said that revenues in local currency rose during the same period by 35.3% or EGP 25.8 billion, to EGP 99.1 billion, up from EGP 73.3 billion in the previous year.
