Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Suez Canal achieved a 5.1% year-on-year rise in revenues in August, official data released Tuesday showed.
Revenues reached $470.6 million in August 2017, up from $447.6 million in August 2016, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Month-on-month, the Suez Canal’s revenues also grew 5.2% from $447.1 million in July.
The CBE said that the Suez Canal’s receipts of transit charges dropped 4% or $200 million to $4.9 billion in fiscal year 2016/2017, compared to $5.1 billion in the prior fiscal year.
