Cairo – Muabsher: Revenues of the Suez Canal are expected to rise to $5.5 billion in fiscal year 2017/2018, versus revenues of $5 billion in the prior fiscal year, according to a report issued by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday.
Revenues increased 5.1% year-on-year to $470.6 million in August 2017 from $447.6 million in August 2016, according to official data.
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) had previously shown a 4% or $200 million drop to $4.9 billion in the Suez Canal receipts in FY16/17, compared to $5.1 billion in FY15/16.
