Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Canal’s transfers to Egypt’s public budget has reached its highest level ever.
The canal’s transfers recorded EGP 72.2 billion during the fiscal year 2018/2019, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The amount was transferred to the public budget after covering operating, maintenance, and expansions of the Suez Canal, the ministry added in a statement.
Suez Canal’s revenue went up 40.4% to EGP 104.2 billion in FY18/19 versus EGP 74.2 billion in the year-ago period, MoF’s data showed.
