Suez Customs collects EGP 3.23bn customs, taxes in March

Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Customs collected EGP 3.23 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during March.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Suez Port reached EGP 920.922 million during the third month of 2021, according to a report released by the Egyptian Customs Authority on Tuesday.

Additionally, the value-added tax (VAT) amounted to EGP 2.015 billion, while other charges imposed on these goods stood at EGP 277.23 million during the month.  

The imported good included strategic commodities, production requirements, and general cargo, such as yarn, textiles, electric appliances, cars and spare parts, vegetable oils, plastics, wheat, and petroleum products.

Moreover, the port exported goods that included sand, juices, cosmetics, and poultry feed at a total value of EGP 5.99 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 4.471 million.
