Suez Customs collects EGP 4.4bn customs, taxes in August

Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Customs collected EGP 4.408 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during August.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Suez Port stood at EGP 1.196 billion during the eighth month of 2021, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Moreover, the value-added tax (VAT) recorded EGP 2.809 billion, while other charges imposed on these goods amounted to EGP 377.876 million during the month.  

The imported good included strategic commodities, production inputs, and general cargo, such as yarn, textiles, electric appliances, receivers, plastics, and petroleum products. 

Moreover, the port exported goods that included sand, juices, cosmetics, and poultry feed at a total value of EGP 7.528 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 6.289 million, while fines and other charges registered EGP 12.524 million.
