Swiss-Belhotel to launch new hotel in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh – Mubasher: Swiss-Belhotel International (SBI) on Tuesday signed a contract to implement the joint venture (JV) Swiss-Belhotel and Suites Jazan to continue its expansion in the Kingdom.

The JV will include 140 rooms and 70 studios along with apartments and business and lifestyle facilities.

The hotel also includes a swimming pool, health club, four dining outlets, three meeting rooms, a marina and restaurant on the beach, a statement released by SBI showed.

Commenting on the new deal, SBI chairman and president Gavin M. Faull said that the new JV comes as part of SBI’s “global expansion strategy” through which the company aims to enter new markets.

“We are particularly excited about our debut in Jazan with a reputable partner like Cardamom International Property Management,” Faull said, noting that the governorate of Jazan is enjoying major economic development.

The city of Jazan has a growing demand for hotels, which means that SBI’s new hotel “will be ideally placed to cater to the needs of travellers to the city with an exceptional property like Swiss-Belhotel and Suites Jazan,” stated Laurent A. Voivenel, SBI senior vice president, operation, and development in the MENA region, Africa, and India.

Saudi Arabia currently ranks first among MENA region nations in the number of hotel rooms under construction with 36,742 rooms across 85 projects.

SBI manages a portfolio of more than 145 projects, resorts, and hotels in Turkey, Tanzania, Georgia, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Australia, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and the UAE.
