Cairo – Mubasher: Swiss group Terra Sola is targeting the formation of an alliance to pump direct investments worth $3.5 billion (EGP 31.15 billion) in the electricity sector, the Egyptian government said in a statement.
The targeted investments entail the establishment of a power plant using solar energy, added to a plant for producing solar panels in Egypt to generate 2000 megawatts of electricity.
The head of the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) Mohamed El-Sobky previously told Mubasher that expected investments in the renewable energy sector will reach $13 billion by 2020, and will account for 20% of electrical production in Egypt.
