TAQA narrows losses by 63% in Q3

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) on Thursday said it trimmed its losses by 63% year-on-year to AED 194 million in the third quarter of 2017 from AED 524 million.

Revenues fell 0.4% to AED 4.17 billion in Q3-17 from AED 4.19 billion in the year-ago period, according to a statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).

Cost of sales declined 17% to AED 2.84 billion from AED 3.42 billion in Q3-16.

At the level of the nine-month period ended 30 September, TAQA suffered AED 82 million in losses, down from AED 1.72 billion in the year-ago period.

Losses per share (LPS) amounted to AED 0.014 in the first nine months of 2017 against LPS of AED 0.284 in the same period of 2016.
