TASI, MT30 drop, Nomu surges at close Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday on a negative note after its benchmark, the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) tumbled 34.21 points, or 0.4%, to 8,513.27 points.

TASI’s trading value rose to SAR 1.93 billion ($515.46 million) on Sunday, from SAR 1.7 billion ($456.53 million) on Thursday, while traded volume increased to 93.87 million shares, from 77.32 million in the previous session.

The food and staples retailing sector led losers with 1.1%, followed by the capital goods sector with 0.87%, while banks fell n 0.8%, materials shed 0.41%, and telecommunication services decreased 0.28%.

On the other hand, the healthcare sector increased 1.15%, while the real estate management and development sector grew 1.07%.

Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Khodari Sons Company’s stock led losers with 9.7%, whereas Arriyadh Development Co.'s was the best performer after growing 8.2% on the back of its financial results and announced dividend distribution.

Al Rajhi Bank’s stock topped TASI in terms of turnover with SAR 289.6 million, while Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company’s stock registered the highest traded volume on the bourse after 17.4 million shares were exchanged.

Meanwhile, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, jumped 47.41 points, or 1.38%, reaching 3,487.83 points.

Al Kathiri Holding Company’s led gainers after surging 18.5%, while the stock of Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company was the worst performer after losing 3.3%.

The joint index between Tadawul and MSCI, MT30 index, dropped 6.34 points, or 0.5%, to 1,256.54 points.
