TASI, MT30 index grow, Nomu stable early Tuesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) started Tuesday’s trading session with a positive performance after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose 29 points, or 0.34%, to 8,549.7 points.

By 10:30 am Saudi time, TASI’s trading volume reached 13 million shares exchanged through 13,000 exchanged transactions with a turnover of SAR 258.46 million.

The food and beverages sector was the best performer with 1.12%, followed by the utilities sector with 1%.

The banking, materials increased and telecommunication services sectors inched up 0.44%, 0.31%, and 0.08%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the media and entertainment sector shed 0.61%, while the food and staples retailing sector went down 0.5%.

Eastern Province Cement Co.’s stock was the best performer after growing 5.7%, while the stock of Saudi Amiantit Group was the worst performer due to losing 1.89%.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, remained unchanged at 3,160.54 points, while the newly-launched MT30 index, the joint index between MSCI and Tadawul, grew 4.68 points, or 0.34%, to 1,258.95 points.
