Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) grew 0.57% or 42.55 points to 7,521.64 points.
TASI’s trading volume stood at 159.72 million shares on Thursday, against 175.32 million on Wednesday, whereas liquidity jumped to SAR 3.19 billion, from SAR 2.98 billion.
The media sector increased 2.3%, followed by telecommunications services with 1.3%, pharmaceuticals with 1.2%, materials with 1.1%, and banks with 0.5%.
On the flipside, the food and beverages sector shed 0.8% and consumer services inched down 0.5%.
Methanol Chemicals Company’s (Chemanol) led gainers with 4.6%, whereas the Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Co’s (SAFCO) stock fell 2.5%.
The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock was the most active in terms of turnover, generating SAR 522.75 million, while Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock topped in terms of traded volume after 52.3 million shares were exchanged.
In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, levelled up 1.2% or 36.97 points, to close at 3,097.52 points.
Nomu’s trading volume amounted to 26,780 shares on Thursday, against 48,230 shares on Wednesday, while liquidity declined to SAR 607,990, from SAR 949,570.
Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries’ stock gained 10.1%, whereas Development Works Food’s stock tumbled 3.7%.
Arab Sea Information System’s stock led Nomu in terms of traded volume after 10,780 shares were exchanged, while Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock topped the market in terms of liquidity, generating SAR 196,450.
