TASI, Nomu see gains despite low liquidity

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in the green, despite a weak turnover, while the Nomu-Parallel Market turned to a rise following seven straight declines.

The Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) grew 0.11% or 7.39 points and closed at 6,864.54 points, while Nomu surged 1.4% or 59.93 points and closed at 4,399.05 points.

Turnover on TASI reached SAR 2.48 billion ($662 million) against SAR 2.41 billion ($644 million) on Sunday, while traded volume reached 146.53 million shares against 156.48 million.

On the other hand, liquidity on the parallel market reached SAR 2.75 million on Monday, up from SAR 2.56 million on Sunday, while traded volume reached 171,590 shares against 119,870 shares.

Trading on Tadawul’s main market saw 15 sectors rise led by healthcare with 1.6%, followed by consumer services and consumer durables with 0.93% and 0.80%, respectively.

As for leading sectors, telecoms and banks took the lead, adding 0.79% and 0.09%, respectively, whereas four sectors were in the red, led by investment services with 0.63%.

Nama Chemicals led risers on TASI, surging 9.24%, while Saudi Industrial Investment Group (SIIG) fell 2.22%.
