TASI adds 0.7% on Tuesday; Aramco sees first decline

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s trading session in a rise, supported by the gains of the energy, banks, and materials sectors.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose by 0.72% or 58.40 points and closed at 8,197.39 points.

Traded volumes increased to 281.27 million shares, compared with 194.839 million shares on Monday.

Accordingly, traded values surged to SAR 8.418 billion, up from SAR 5.7 billion yesterday.

This came as the stock of Saudi Aramco will be listed on the MSCI index starting tomorrow, which will also see Aramco’s fast entry to TASI coming in place.

Aramco logged its first decline since listing last Wednesday, losing 0.66% or 0.25%, and closing the session at SAR 37.75.

Nonetheless, the Saudi oil giant was the most actively traded stock in Tadawul today, with 117.91 million shares and a turnover of SAR 4.45 billion, dominating around 53% of the market’s liquidity.

The energy sector index gained 2.04%, while telecom and banks added 1.4% and 0.73%, respectively.

MetLife AIG ANB was the top gainer, as it surged 9.99%, while JADWA REIT was the top loser and dropped 7.5%.
