TASI adds 18 pts, Nomu falls at Wednesday's close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday's trading session on a mixed performance, after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) increased 18.38 points, or 0.22%, to 8,317.27 points, while the parallel market index levelled down.

TASI’s traded volume fell to 118.64 million shares on Wednesday, from 124.68 million shares on Tuesday, whereas liquidity rose to SAR 2.68 billion, from SAR 2.57 billion.

The media, commercial and professional services, pharmaceuticals, materials, and telecommunication services sectors levelled up 7.9%, 2.1%, 0.94%, 0.6%, and 0.2%, respectively.

On the flipside, the utilities sector decreased by 0.36%, followed by a 0.35% decline in the food and staples retailing sector, while the banking sector shed 0.14%.

Saudi Enaya Cooperative Insurance Company’s (Enaya) stock was the best performer after jumping 9.9%, whereas the stock of United Cooperative Assurance Co declined 3.4%.

Alinma Bank’s stock acquired TASI’s liquidity after generating SAR 354.34 million in a turnover, while Dar Al-Arkan Real-Estate Development Company’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume after 24.81 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, went down 15.11 points, or 0.5%, to close at 3,068.45 points.

Nomu’s traded volume stood at 102,420 shares on Wednesday, against 79,580 shares in the day before, while its turnover increased to SAR 2.65 million, from SAR 1.19 million.

Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries, Arab Sea Information System, and Thob Al-Aseel Company stocks levelled down 4.3%, 1.9%, and 0.6%, respectively.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock dominated liquidity after generating a turnover of SAR 1.38 million, while Raydan Co’s stock saw trading of 74,230 shares.
