TASI adds 338 pts, NOMU gains 299; market cap records SAR 1.9tn in April

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) All Shares Index (TASI) soared 338 points, or 4.29%, to close at 8,208.87 in April.

Over the month, market capitalisation increased by SAR 60.2 billion ($16 billion) to SAR 1.93 trillion ($515 billion), while trading value surged 23.3% month-on-month to SAR 107.97 billion.

Trading volume skyrocketed 35.5% to 4.8 billion shares in the fourth month of 2018, compared to 3.6 billion a month earlier.

A total of 17 sectors grew on top of which media, which ballooned 45.8%, followed by consumer durables that gained 12.9%.

Meanwhile, three sectors declined, led by REITS, which tumbled 3.19%.

The main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, levelled up 299 points, or 10.1%, to 3,250.8 points in April, with a turnover of SAR 63.4 million.
