TASI breaks 4-session losing streak, Nomu loses 24 pts Thursday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday's trading session in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went up 8.72 points, or 0.11%, to 8,107.47 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 178.69 million shares on Thursday, down from 199.39 million in the previous session, while liquidity fell to SAR 4.21 billion, from SAR 4.54 billion.

The utilities, energy, banks, materials, and telecommunication services sectors increased 1.8%, 0.7%, 0.6%, 0.4%, and 0.07%, respectively.

On the flipside, the insurance sector declined 2.7%, followed by the media and healthcare segments with 1.9%, and 1.8%, respectively.

Saudi Steel Pipe’s stock was the best performer after adding 6.6%, whereas the Company for Cooperative Insurance’s (Tawuniya) stock tumbled 9.9%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 43.12 million shares were exchanged, while the stock of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) topped in terms of liquidity after generating SAR 705.34 million.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, levelled down 24.34 points, or 0.8%, to finish at 3,178.98 points, registering its lowest level in nine sessions or since 22 April.

Nomu’s traded volume reached 202,900 shares by the end of Thursday, against 55,310 on Wednesday, while liquidity jumped to SAR 3.39 million, from SAR 1.1 million.

Al-Omran Industrial Trading’s stock was Nomu’s worst performer with 5.6%, whereas Development Works Food’s stock increased 7.4%.

The stock of Abo Moati for Bookstores dominated trading activities after 95,300 shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 1.14 million.
