TASI closes Tuesday with marginal gains

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s trading session in the green for the third consecutive session, on the back of energy and petrochemicals sectors.

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) levelled up 0.05% as it added 3.42 points and closed at the level of 7,250.76 points.

This is the first time than the main index has closed above 7,250 points in five sessions.

Traded values reached SAR 5.15 billion ($1.37 billion) down from SAR 5.84 billion ($1.56 billion) in last session, while traded volumes declined to 304.9 million shares from 326.95 million shares on Monday’s session.

As for the sectors performance, the energy sector saw the biggest gains today, as it added 2.4% on the back of Saudi Electricity which rose 2.53% and closed at SAR 23.10.

Petrochem rose 0.15% as SABIC increased by 0.81$% to SAR 92.5 while SAFCO decreased by 0.66% to SAR 75.

On the other hand, the banks sector lost 0.64% as Al Ahli slipped 0.93% to SAR 42.5 while Al Rajhi grew 0.4% to SAR 63.25.

Similarly, the telecom sector declined by 0.54% as STC slid 0.59% to the level of SAR 73, while the rest of the sector’s stocks closed in green.

Arabian Shield led the session’s gainers and surged 9.85% to SAR 43.4, while Samba was the biggest loser and dropped 2.84% to SAR 23.3.

Dar Al Arkan was the most active in traded volumes with 61.15 million shares, while SABIC registered the highest turnover at SAR 459.6 million.
