TASI closes Wednesday in green

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) returned to gains on Wednesday thanks to the positive performance of the market sectors, with liquidity reaching its lowest level since mid-January.

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) ended today’s trading session up 0.58%, gaining 41 points, and closing at the level of 7,073.69 points, reaching its highest level in nine session, since 2 February.

Traded values declined to SAR 3.3 billion ($879 million) compared to SAR 3.58 billion ($955 million) yesterday, while traded volumes marginally decreased to 192.27 million shares down from 199 million shares on Tuesday’s session.

As for the sectors performance, utilities saw the biggest gains adding 2.46%, as Saudi Electricity and GASCO grew 2.72% and 0.75% respectively.

The banks sector increased 0.5%, as Al Rajhi and NCB went up 0.36% and 0.49% respectively, closing at SAR 65 and 41.40.

Materials index added 0.31%, as SABIC gained 0.17% to SAR 96.75, while SAFCO went up 1.15% to SAR 71.50.

On the other hand, the telecom sector went against the upwards trend and went down 0.43% on the back of the negative performance by the majority of its stocks, led by STC which lost 0.71% to the level of SAR 64.75.

REITs also declined 2.42%, as Riyad REIT fell to 12.1, while Aljazira Mawten REIT ended its first trade day up 10% and closed at SAR 11.

Al-Ahlia led the session’s gainers and surged 4.72% to the level of SAR 7.55, while GACO was the biggest loser and dropped 2.46%.

Alinma registered the highest turnover with SAR 321.64 million, while Dar Al Arkan was the most active in traded volumes with 33.88 million shares.
