TASI closes week marginally higher, NOMU down 1.5%

Riyadh – Mubasher: Tadawul all shares index (TASI) halted four-week losses, inching up 0.34% or 23.5 points to 7011.26 points during the week ended 19 October, while the Nomu-Parallel Market index declined 1.5%.

Market capitalisation on the main index grew by SAR 2.7 billion to SAR 1.659 trillion.

Despite this increase, traded value during this week dropped by 22.7% to SAR 2.6 billion per session, compared to SAR 3.3 billion per session in the week before.

Meanwhile, trading volume averaged SAR 126 million shares, up 2.5% from 130 million shares in the week earlier.

Six sectors witnessed an increase, topped by utilities with 2.8%, while 14 sectors fell, led by food and staples retailing with 2.2%.

Other main sectors saw a mixed performance, as the banks sector gained 1.6%, while both telecommunications and materials decreased by 1.7% and 0.08%, respectively.

As for the parallel market, The Nomu index closed 1.5% or 46 points lower to the level of 3017.45 points.

Trading volume on the index amounted to 293,000 shares, versus 282,000 shares last week, while turnover reached SAR 7.5 million, down from SAR 10 million last week.
